President Alvi admits; there is need of another children hospital in Karachi
President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi on his surprise visit to National Institute of Child Health

Karachi:President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi paid a surprise visit to National Institute of Child Health and admitted that there is dire need of at least one more 500-bed children hospital in the Karachi region. While talking to media representatives, he said that government fully understands the scarcity of resources both in terms of human capital and infrastructure. He also said that it is a serious matter of concern for government that in the hospital on a single bed four to five patientvechildren are being treated. Dr. Syed Jamal Raza, Director of the hospital gave a presentation to the President regarding availability of incubators and other facilities in the hospital.

The president said that government in collaboration with philanthropists has to take concrete and long term measures to address challenges being faced by public hospitals all across Pakistan.
