| US-Iran Talks In Islamabad |
ISLAMABAD - The high-stakes negotiations between the United States and Iran, hosted by Pakistan in Islamabad, have concluded without a final agreement. This deadlock has dealt a significant blow to efforts aimed at preventing a potential US-Iran conflict and ensuring global peace. The delegations held 21 hours of intense and grueling discussions, but failed to reach a deal due to sharp disagreements over key conditions, leading to the departure of US Vice President JD Vance.
Confirming the lack of a breakthrough, Vice President JD Vance stated that despite extensive talks, a final settlement could not be reached, and he is returning to the US without a deal. Meanwhile, Iranian media also confirmed the conclusion of the talks, noting that both sides remained unable to find common ground.

During a press briefing in Islamabad, Vance revealed that while various issues were discussed in good faith over the past 21 hours, Iran chose not to accept the terms clearly presented by the US. He remarked, "The bad news is that we haven't reached an agreement, and this is worse news for Iran than it is for the US."
Vance further emphasized that the US requires a positive and clear verification that Iran will not seek nuclear weapons, an assurance that was reportedly missing from the Iranian delegation. Before concluding his briefing, the Vice President expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir for their hospitality.
On the other hand, Iranian media reports suggested that "excessive demands" from the US side hindered the creation of a joint framework. Sources indicate that the US insistence on explicit nuclear guarantees and disagreements over maritime rights in the Strait of Hormuz remained the primary points of contention.
According to global observers, the failure of the Islamabad talks is likely to heighten tensions between Iran and the US, posing a renewed challenge to international security.
