Trump Orders Hormuz Blockade After Nuclear Talks Fail

WASHINGTON – U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that while the American delegation’s meeting with Iranian officials in Islamabad was positive and agreement was reached on most points, a deadlock remains over the critical nuclear issue.

In a message shared on Truth Social regarding the Islamabad negotiations, President Trump noted that although U.S. representatives had established a cordial and dignified rapport with the Iranian leadership, it ultimately proved futile as Iran remained adamant on its nuclear stance.

The U.S. President revealed that negotiations lasted approximately 20 hours, emphasizing that Iran is unwilling to abandon its nuclear ambitions. He reiterated his long-standing position that Iran will never be allowed to possess nuclear weapons, asserting that negotiations lose their significance if nuclear power falls into the hands of unstable and unpredictable individuals.

Trump added that while the points agreed upon in several areas were preferable to continuing military action, the refusal to budge on the core nuclear issue has forced a strategic shift.

In a stern escalation, President Trump announced that the U.S. Navy would immediately begin a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. He warned that any forces firing upon American vessels would be destroyed and confirmed that the U.S. would begin clearing mines in the strait. "There will be a blockade, and other nations will join us," Trump declared.

He further instructed the Navy to identify vessels paying tolls to Iran, stating that any ship paying such tolls would be denied safe passage. He remarked that while the U.S. had hoped for the free movement of ships in the Strait of Hormuz, Iran had failed to facilitate this.

Concluding his message, Donald Trump lauded the Pakistani leadership, describing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir as "extraordinary individuals."

He noted that both the Prime Minister and the Field Marshal repeatedly thanked him for his role in the ceasefire with India. Trump expressed his deep respect for them, stating that the discussions regarding humanity were "indescribable" and held in high regard.
