| Opening of the Strait of Hormuz |
Tehran — Iran has announced the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz for commercial shipping in the context of the Lebanon ceasefire.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on X (Twitter) that the strait has been reopened for all commercial vessels and will remain fully operational throughout the duration of the ceasefire.
He added that commercial shipping will continue uninterrupted; however, vessels must adhere to designated routes set by Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization.

According to the foreign minister, the move aims to reduce regional tensions and support the restoration of global trade activities.
The Strait of Hormuz is a critical global النفط transit route, and any disruption or reopening has direct implications for the global economy.
Following the announcement, global oil prices declined. Brent Crude fell by 13% to $81 per barrel, while U.S. crude also dropped to $81 per barrel.
