MUZAFFARABAD - Following the recent hike in petroleum prices, a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Munir Ahmed Qureshi and SSP Syed Riaz Haider Bukhari was held with the Transport Association. After mutual consultation, a 40% increase in public transport fares was approved for Muzaffarabad.

The district administration has directed transporters to implement the revised fare list immediately.

Speaking at the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner stated that the fare hike was unavoidable due to rising fuel costs, but a robust monitoring system would be put in place to ensure public convenience and prevent overcharging.
