| Software Delays Hit 5G Launch in Pakistan |
ISLAMABAD - Despite the successful auction of 5G spectrum in Pakistan, the official launch of the service faces technical hurdles. Sources reveal that Apple has yet to release the necessary software update patch for 5G support, leaving iPhone users unable to access the network on their current devices.
In contrast, Samsung has shown progress and is expected to roll out its update within the next two to three weeks. Telecom operators are in active discussions with mobile manufacturers to resolve the issue, and there are proposals for state-level engagement with Apple.
While the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) remains in contact with stakeholders, experts warn that the service will remain unusable on existing handsets until these critical software patches are deployed.
