US Army Chief Sacked Amid Tensions Over Possible Iran War

NEW YORK - Severe disagreements have erupted between the Trump administration and the US military establishment over potential war with Iran at Israel's behest. In a major reshuffle, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has dismissed over a dozen top generals and commanders who reportedly refused to follow strike orders.

Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell confirmed that General Randy George, the 41st Chief of Staff of the Army, has been relieved of his duties effective immediately. General George, a West Point graduate with extensive experience in Iraq and Afghanistan, had been serving in the role since August 2023.

While the Pentagon has offered no official reason for the sudden departures, reports suggest a growing rift within the military leadership regarding direct involvement in the Middle East conflict.
