Iran Strikes Force Closure of Major UAE Aluminum Plant

ABU DHABI - Emirates Global Aluminum (EGA) has announced the temporary closure of its major Al Taweelah facility in Abu Dhabi after sustaining significant damage from recent Iranian attacks. According to the company, the extent of the damage is severe, and it may take at least 12 months to fully restore operations at the site.

The Al Taweelah plant is a critical hub for global aluminum production, and its closure is expected to trigger a significant disruption in international supply chains.

Experts warn that this development will likely lead to a surge in aluminum prices and a shortage of raw materials across various industrial sectors worldwide. While reports of minor damage surfaced last month, the latest escalation has forced a complete halt in production, raising concerns over long-term regional economic stability.
