PM Cuts Petrol Price by Rs. 80 per Liter

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a significant reduction of Rs. 80 per liter in petroleum levy, bringing the price of petrol down from Rs. 458 to Rs. 378.

Addressing the nation, the PM stated that the government is utilizing Rs. 129 billion from national resources to shield the public from the global energy crisis caused by regional conflicts.

The relief package includes a Rs. 100 per liter subsidy for motorcyclists and goods transport, along with a monthly subsidy of Rs. 100,000 for public transport buses. Farmers will also receive a subsidy of Rs. 1,500. Additionally, as part of an austerity drive, federal cabinet members will not receive salaries for the next six months.

The Prime Minister emphasized that while global economies are struggling with fuel shortages, his administration is committed to ensuring supply and easing the financial burden on the common man.
